Scarpa is offering one lucky person the chance of winning a pair of the brand new Mescalito, a technical approach shoe stacked with features developed for performance and comfort.
The new Scarpa Mescalito blends the comfort, support and protection of a mountain boot with the sensitivity and weight of an approach shoe.
The Mescalito weighs in at 780 grams per pair (42) perfect for moving quickly and nimbly but retaining stability and is ideal for mountain approaches, scrambling, and rugged ascents.
Vibram Lightbase technology is coupled with a Vibram Megagrip rubber compound shaving 20% off the weight of the outsole yet improving grip on difficult surfaces. Protection and stability are provided through a special EVA midsole with differentiated thickness and density areas and The 'Heel Tension System' prevents twists in the ankle and provides stability on steep, angled terrain.
Using a 1.8mm water-resistant suede supported by a shielding rand the upper's material and design ensures protection and safety during activities.

So after all the comments from women saying they don't want any more pink kit, they release these in pink for the girls. My wife sat right next to me just noticed.
But the men's colour scheme is vile.
I think they look great - but I like yellow stuff. If you win, I'll have them. ;-)
Considering these would have been designed (in Italy) over a year ago, I think you're slightly overestimating the power of UKC! :-)
The Wimmins version deffo looks better, only a bit pink, rather than Vom-coloured version. My wife is also constantly maddened by F shoe colour schemes, preferring B L A C K .
Still, I would wear them for free. But not buy them.
