Rockfax Description
A short and sweet scramble best linked in with Milestone Continuation and then The North Ridge of Tryfan taking you to the summit of Tryfan. From the lay-by, go up the path by the side of the drystone wall and, just below a cliff, cross a stile. Follow the track rightwards below the cliff. Pass a prominent slab and continue on to the bottom right edge of buttress.
1) Climb the slab to a prominent block that protrudes like a 'Pulpit'. Traverse left to a diagonal flake that leads to a recessed ledge.
2) From the left end of the ledge, move up and left to another ledge in an exposed position and gain a larger ledge and bigger recess.
3) From the top of the recess , take a groove up the back wall and continue up over easier terrain to reach a heather terrace.
Continuation - Extend the scramble by carrying on up to Milestone Continuation. Left from here along a rampline leads to The North Ridge of Tryfan. Alternatively, an abseil or difficult scramble descent is possible down Milestone Approach Gully. © Rockfax
