The strength you feel on the slabby side, you lose on the steep side. It's a bit schizophrenic in character, the right side is a stunning sheet of red rock capped by a mighty roof, sit back and watch the theatre of the hopelessly pumped. The left side is a set of unusual slabs (they have holds) with a few steeper climbs at the Birdcage. Enjoy the diversity of climbing on a beautiful cliff and classic Blue Mountains routes. The area is shady with a scenic approach near a waterfall that can trap you for a few hours after a downpour. Though climbers call the area Porter's Pass, the real Porter's Pass is about 1km further west.
Walk down the stepped path for a few hundred metres to a T-intersection (with two blue signs). Turn right and continue straight ahead (past the turnoff to Centennial Glen after 30m) and follow the track, then steps, down to a creek. Turn left and continue steeply down more steps with a handrail next to a waterfall. At the bottom turn left through the fence for Sail Away area, or cross the creek and follow the track to the right (looking out) onto Collier's Causeway to the other areas.
