Rockfax Description
The striking right-hand arete of the front face is an exposed and run-out line. It shares the start pitch of Air on a Bowstring.
1) 45m. As for Air on a Bowstring to the first ledge.
2) 5a, 30m. Starting right of the groove, pull steeply up onto a slab and continue to below a groove just left of the arete. Climb the groove to a ledge and belay under the arete.
3) 5b, 30m. From the left-hand side of the arete, make a move up before transferring right to a small niche on its right side. Climb up a slim rib above to a narrow ledge, then up right to a flake-crack. Traverse left to a quartz ledge on the arete. Head up rightwards to a small ledge, then move left and up the arete to easier ground and a final steep/wide crack (shared with the final section of Bowfell Buttress Eliminate). Finish up the crack. © Rockfax
