Tidal granite sea cliff facing Raasay. Some looseness on the upper sections of the routes but an abseil approach will identify these areas. Good gear and block belays above the line of Gesta.
The parking spot mentioned in the current SMC guidebook is actually the entrance to a field. Instead drive beyond the post box (100m) and park on the left opposite a cottage (friendly). Follow the description in the guidebook to access the peninsula. To find the ‘square’ recess of Gesta walk to the highest point of the northern end of the peninsula (rocks) walk directly towards the pier on Raasay.
The current guidebook mentions birds nesting, however it has been reported more recently that in mid April there were a few cormorants on ledges but no nests.
